While we strongly recommend that all U.S. citizens have a valid passport, it is only a requirement for those traveling outside of the U.S. by plane. All U.S. citizens departing U.S. ports via cruise ship will need proof of citizenship such as a valid passport or a birth certificate and a photo I.D however, this is due to change in summer of ’08.
